Heritage Fest happens each year in Dundee, Illinois. They kick off the fest with Fireworks on the footbridge over the Fox River that links West and East Dundee. This was my first attempt at shooting fireworks. I used my 24-70 f/2.8 lens on my Canon Mark II body. I shot using a tripod at f/11 with various shutter speeds from 3-20 sec ISO 100 . There were 30 minutes of blaring sounds and colors. Unfortunately, I had some tree branches in my way and I should have scoped the location a little better before setting up. I really had no idea where the plumes of color would be in the sky so I guessed. I may consider shooting from the East side of the river next year for a better view. It was fun none the less!!
